What’s the difference between hard enamel and soft enamel pins?

With hard enamel pins, the metal border and the enamel filling are on the same level. This creates a nice, smooth finish and a very clean look. On the flip side, soft enamel pins have texture. The metal outlines are raised and the enamel pockets are recessed, so you can actually feel the outlines. The enamel pins sold by Amber Cecilia are hard enamel pins and come with rubber caps on the back. They’re sturdy and high quality.

Which is better?

The preference between hard enamel pins and soft enamel pins is mostly a personal choice. However, the design of the pin can influence whether or not it’s made with recessed or level metal outlines. While I love the look and feel of hard enamel pins, I also own several soft enamel pins that I love!
